CHILDREN at St Michael's Primary have won a prize for their eco-friendly and sustainable projects.
The John Muir Award, named after the famous Scottish environmental activist with the same name was presented during a special ceremony and celebration.
The youngsters received a medal for building a 'bug hotel', planting vegetables on school grounds, planting a tree for the school, helping at a nature preserve and making pieces of art from recycling material.
Caron Rose, a teacher who organised many of the activities, said she felt 'proud' of everybody's contributions.
She said: "This day is an exciting one for the children, as they get to celebrate all their achievements with their families and friends.
"I could see the passion growing inside of each and every one of them and they were so thrilled to receive their well-deserved recognition."
