A GOUROCK councillor says concerned constituents and patients are urging action on staffing shortages at Inverclyde Royal.

The Tele revealed last week how a number of key wards were being staffed by a single nurse at critical times.

Martin McCluskey, who now represents the area on the board of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, said: "Many people have been in touch with me about the staffing situation at IRH and their own experiences following the Telegraph article.

"I will be raising this issue at the next health board meeting on Tuesday."
