A LOCAL foodbank has made an urgent plea for donations to cope with a surge in demand.
Port Glasgow Church Angels handed out 86 bags of groceries to struggling families during June - and say they anticipate an even greater demand for their services during July.
A spokesperson said: "At the moment all of our stock is running very low.
"Many people are facing hardship at this difficult time of food and energy price increases."
Donations can be dropped off at 5 Brown Street on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 10am and noon.
