A GREENOCK man charged with stealing doughnuts from Tesco and threatening store staff with violence has had his sheriff court trial postponed.

Mark Gibson, 28, was due to have his case heard on Monday but it had to be adjourned because he wasn't brought from prison, where he is currently in custody on another matter.

Gibson, of Nicolson Street, is said to have shouted, swore and acted aggressively during the alleged Tesco incident in June 2020.

Pleas of not guilty were maintained in his absence by lawyer Ellen Macdonald, with the case due to call again on July 22.
