A GREENOCK man has been charged with stealing booze from a supermarket in the town last Hogmanay.
Alan Smith, 46, is accused of helping himself to 'a quantity of alcohol' at Iceland on Westburn Street whilst subject to two bail orders.
Prosecutors say that Smith, of Drumfrochar Road, also stole a bottle of booze from B&M on Inverkip Street on January 3 this year.
He has pleaded not guilty through lawyer Gerry Keenan at the sheriff court, with the case due to call again on September 20.
