A TALENTED teen musician has blown scholars at a prestigious music school away with his flute skills.

Youngster Filip Siwek has gained a place in the Junior Royal Conservatoire Scotland to study.

The talented Notre Dame High pupil, who also taught himself piano, is part of the choir and orchestra in the school and also regularly helps out with music at his former primary, All Saints.

The 13-year-old, who was born in Poland and lives in Greenock, said: "I am so pleased to get into the RCS.

"It has always been a goal of mine and I'm really excited to get started."

Music teacher Anne Marie Alford added: "Filip is a very talented musician.

"He is going to do well, we are so pleased to see all his hard work pay off."
