AMAZON in Gourock have awarded £1,000 to a vital community wellbeing charity based in Greenock.

The money has been presented to Safe Harbour, which works with people experiencing emotional trauma.

Back in 2016, the Amazon team in Gourock offered technological support to Safe Harbour by advising them on the best beginner IT equipment to purchase.

The new donation will be put towards upgrading that IT infrastructure.

Lorna Sharples, site leader at Amazon in Gourock, said: "We are proud that the charity’s expansion means it has outgrown the original IT infrastructure we helped them to put in place, so wanted to support the upgrade with this donation.”

Duncan Shaw, chief executive of Safe Harbour, added: “The team from Amazon in Gourock has done so much for us over the years and we are thankful for their support.

"We can’t wait to get our new systems up and running so that we can continue to help those in the community who need us.”
