MORTON have paid tribute to former player Drew Busby who has died at the age of 74.
The popular midfielder had played for Third Lanark, Airdrie, Hearts and Toronto Blizzard before joining the Ton in 1980.
He played 64 games for Benny Rooney’s successful side, scoring seven times - including a strike against Rangers on his home debut.
Drew left Morton to take up a player manager role at Queen of the South in June 1982.
In a recent interview for Morton's matchday programme, Drew said: “I was very fortunate to play in such a great team.
"My job was simply to win the ball and give it to the good players and that was what I did.
"I had a lot of great players round about me.
"There wasn’t a bad player in the Morton team.”
Morton say they were 'saddened' to learn of Drew's passing on Friday and have sent a message of condolence to his family.
