THE woman who leads the logistics division at a Greenock global export company has scooped a top UK industry honour.

Fiona Dempster, of PG Paper, claimed the freight leader title at the 2022 Amazon everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards in London.

Fiona, who has been at the company since 2013, has more than 24 years' experience in the industry and her bosses say her 'vast knowledge and expertise' are an integral part of the business.

Her responsibilities include managing shipments, liaising with customers, suppliers and carriers and managing high-level relationships across the supply chain.

Fiona also has responsibility for a global team working to transport 50 equipment units across 60 countries by land and sea.

PG Paper chief executive Dr Poonam Gupta OBE says Fiona 'thoroughly deserves' the honour.

She added: "Fiona is an excellent leader of PG Paper's global team.

"She is always happy to offer her colleagues support and share her knowledge to ensure our global operations run smoothly."

Joint CEO Puneet Gupta added: "I am incredibly proud of Fiona.

"She has been an integral asset to PG Paper's success and both Poonam and I look forward to reaching more great milestones with her."

The awards which honoured Fiona showcase the opportunities available for women in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

They aim to highlight the vital contribution made by women across freight, retail, automotive, maritime and air transport sectors.
