A SOCIAL group which was set up to help alleviate isolation caused by the coronavirus pandemic is going from strength to strength.
Broomhill Gardens and Community Hub started up a lunch club in April and it has been running every Thursday.
Around 20 older people who found themselves alone and anxious during lockdown attend each week for some lunch, a chat and activities.
Erin Moran, funding and marketing officer at the hub, says the group have enjoyed big band singers, tai chi sessions, history talks, photo exhibitions and gardening.
She added: "Through the club, we've been able to bring people together to help them make new friends and get back into a routine."
