SUNSEEKERS made the most of the sweltering hot temperatures yesterday by flocking to Inverclyde's favourite seaside spots.

Over 1,000 swimmers went through the gates at Gourock Pool as the mercury hit 24 degrees.

Lunderston Bay beach was also packed as families and friends went to the waterside to cool down.

Gourock Pool manager Marc McFarlane told the Tele: "We are so lucky to have such an amazing facility on our doorstep.

"We had local faces as well as people coming from Glasgow and even from down south to enjoy the facilities.

"It's the busiest day we've had so far, and weather like this is a reminder of how brilliant it is to have the pool here in Inverclyde."
