YOUNG dancers are shining brightly as they bounce back from the pandemic in style.

Local group DM Diamondz recently took no fewer than five squads of top talent to one of the biggest events in the country at Braehead.

The girls of all ages put on terrific performances - and also showed their true team spirit.

Little Lily Gemmell, nine, stepped in to one of the squads at the last minute and put in a performance to remember.

Ann Marie Campbell said: "It has been a tough world for the girls in the last couple of years and they need to have their confidence built back up.

"That is why the event at Braehead was so important.

"They all did so well.

"But we were all really proud of Lily, who was asked to step into one team and mastered the routine really quickly.

"In our dance school when they master a new skill, they ring the bell and we all stop and applaud.

"We want to celebrate all our dancers.

"We are a dancing family and help one another every step of the way."

This sense of unity is taking them to the top in all different disciplines, including lyrical, jazz, hip hop and gymnastics.

They also staged a successful sell-out show - and are now busy taking part in summer camps.
