BROADWAY at the Beacon has become the latest success story for a local theatre company putting home grown talent on stage.

Greenock director Kevin Jannetts of No Nonsense Productions pulled off another hit as he brought a top Inverclyde cast to the arts centre.

Performers Julie Hutchison, Felix O'Brien, Emily Ashton and Keiran Begley delighted audiences with big songs from the likes of Wicked, Les Miserables and Waitress, among others.

The musical theatre company has been bringing quirky performances like Para Handy and It's A wonderful Life: The Radio Play to new audiences for over a decade.

Producer, director and performer Kevin said: "It has been really difficult to get everything up and running again after the pandemic so it was great to bring some great performers together.

"We go back a long way are all still performing and I am very proud of what we have achieved.

"We had performed Broadway at the bandstand in Gourock Park during the pandemic and we thought it would be lovely to do something at the Beacon.

"There is a really vibrant, creative theatre scene in Inverclyde and we are also very lucky we have the Beacon, which is a fantastic venue."

No Nonsense was created by Kevin and his friend Mark Macdonald, who went on to star in Mamma Mia, as a project to bring more obscure musicals to local audiences.

Since then Kevin, who is also director of Kayos Theatre group, has taken some of his productions on tour and worked closely with the Beacon on community performances.
