LOCALS get can get the rare chance to sample a festival fringe show on their doorstep when Irvine Welsh's Trainspotting follow-up 'Porno' takes to the stage at the Beacon Arts Centre.

It's a home-grown effort with the writer David Carswell and producer Felix O'Brien both from Inverclyde, as well as several of the cast members.

Tickets are selling fast for the play - which carries a health warning that is not the faint-hearted.

It will be performed at the Beacon on Monday August 1.
