A MAN who is closing in on the remarkable milestone of £200,000 raised for local charities has been hailed by a welfare group.
DJ Stephen Connon has 10,000 supporters who have been helping him raise money for dozens of groups over the last two years, including Children in Poverty Inverclyde.
Stephen, 34, said: "I was delighted to be able to support the charity, they do amazing work and I am looking at ways to help them again.
"We know that people need help in Inverclyde and that is what I am trying to do. every day.
"I just want to keep trying to make a difference."
As a thank-you for his efforts Children in Poverty Inverclyde presented Stephen with a special award.
Trustee George Wall said: "Stephen does incredible work and we were delighted when he supported us with our Christmas appeal last year, helping us to purchase £1,000-worth of Argos vouchers for families.
"We'd be delighted to work with him again."
