DETECTIVES have launched an investigation after a man was assaulted in a Gourock pub in the early hours of Sunday.
The 25-year-old male was struck on the head with a glass at Cleats in Kempock Street at 12.40am.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the victim was taken to Inverclyde Royal where he received stitches.
Police have now launched a witness appeal to find his attacker.
Constable Agnieszka Telford of Greenock police, said: "Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
"We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch as soon as possible."
