A MUSICAL summer camp is bring some of the biggest stage shows and top local talent together this summer.

Prominence Academy of Performing Arts has been recreating some of the west end's biggest smash hits at fun-filled holiday sessions.

Directors Lynette Beaton and Lauren Mortimer have drafted in tutors to help run the camps.

They signed up Royal Conservatoire student Abbie McKillop and musician and songwriter Jud Harron to pass on their knowledge and expertise.

Youngsters of all ages have enjoyed learning from them as they perform songs from the likes of The Greatest Showman, Lion King and Sing.

Lynette said: "It is great to be in the studios with summer camps and having shows to look forward to again.

"We are really enjoying working with these wonderful young people and are so busy.

"We want to thank our friends Jud and Abbie for joining us."

Lynette and Lauren's academy is a hive of excitement and energy with dancing, drama, music and the baby group Bookbug.

It is also helping to create a conveyor belt of talent that is emerging from Inverclyde, with the tutors impressed by the up and coming next generation of stage stars.

Abbie, 20, said: "I have had a great experience here at Prominence.

"I've loved taking the summer camp, it has been great fun."
