A GREENOCK businesswoman is in fine voice as she tunes up to launch her brand new base this weekend.

Suzie O'Donoghue, founder of local singing group Songbird Singing, is putting the final touches on her new premises in the town.

Songbird Studios opens on Sunday after new mum Suzie took over the former Curves Gym on Robertson Street.

She plans to use it as a hub for vocal lessons, new baby classes and more.

Suzie also plans to also offer the space - which has a 75 inch television and full sound system - to groups looking for a place to meet.

The vocalist, who lives with husband Kevin and daughter Daisy, told the Tele: "Songbird has just grown arms and legs, so it felt like the right time to take on this new venture.

"The studio will be a place for singing lessons to take place and we are also starting 'Baby Birds' - a class for parents and babies.

"I've already had local groups express interest in using it and would love to hear from other people, especially an LGBT+ group.

"I want it to become a safe and inclusive space for the whole community to use and enjoy."

Suzie has created full baby changing facilities and purchased soft play equipment for the facility, which has disabled access.

She hopes that it will be used for local birthday parties where she and business partner Stephanie Lavelle will be offering customised parties.

Suzie added: "We will now only be operating our princess parties from Songbird Studios.

"I hope it becomes the place people think on when they want to have a children's party.

"I want this to be a place where everyone can come - from new mums to teenagers looking for support.

"This way we can ensure there's something for everyone's needs."
