A LOCAL drinks firm has teamed up with Morton to help Ardgowan Hospice patients.

Titan Spirits bottled a limited edition run of a special centenary rum to toast 100 years since Ton won the Scottish Cup.

The special edition spirit sold out within just 16 minutes, however bosses Neill Forrest, Stuart Drake and Gordon McInnes held onto bottle 100, which they kindly donated to Ardgowan Hospice.

The compassionate place of care raffled off the bottle, with local EE worker Stuart McFarlane being named the winner.

Stuart, a big Ton fan who also coaches the Morton in the Community 2014s, told the Tele: "I'm buzzing to win, it was a great surprise.

"I decided to enter the raffle just to show my support for the hospice.

"They do amazing work, so I always get involved in anything to do with helping them.

"Now I just need to decide whether to hold onto the bottle or enjoy it!"

The raffle raised £880, with Titan bosses rounding that figure up to £1,000.

Neill, who makes up one third of the Titan trio, said: "It means a lot to us as a local business to give back to the community, we try to do our bit where we can.

"So many people got behind the idea to show their support for the hospice.

"We're delighted to hand over this amount."

Hospice fundraiser Laura Queen said: "We are so grateful to the Titan Spirits team for donating this amazing prize.

"We are also thankful to Morton for facilitating the draw and allowing bucket collections on a match day, and to everyone who entered.

"In these tough times all monies raised allow us to continue delivering compassionate care to patients and their families.

"This is a real showing of community spirit."
