A PIECE of land has been left growing wild because it is deemed 'too dangerous' to cut.

Residents in Juno Terrace, Braeside, have complained to Link Housing for failing to maintain the space.

It sits next to land which is cut by the council and people living in the area say that it is spoiling the look of their neighbourhood.

One woman, who did not want to be named, told the Tele: "It makes me so mad, it looks terrible next to the area the council cuts.

"I take great pride in my garden but I have to look out to an area that is overgrown.

"When I complained they told me it was too dangerous for their team to maintain.

"I can't believe they said that.

"I just think it is going to cause problems in the long run.

"How can they expect us to take care of our own gardens if they can't take care of their's?

"They cut back round the edges but that is it.

"It's not good enough."

Link Housing has admitted there is a health and safety issue with the land.

The homes are owned by the association.

A Link Housing spokesman said: “Our maintenance team is working to address challenges concerning the upkeep of this area, where there are potential health and safety risks.

“Maintenance work to the perimeter of the area will be undertaken to prevent any shrubbery growing through the fence and onto public foot paths and for the health and safety assessment to take place.

“We will keep customers informed at all stages.”
