THE libraries service in Inverclyde is up for two national awards in the Scottish Library & Information Council (SLIC) gongs.
It is in the final four for Library Service Excellence Award, up against East Lothian, Highland and Shetland.
Competition organisers say it has been shortlisted for its efforts to help close the educational attainment gap by working closely with local schools to improve literacy.
The team are also up for SLIC Project of the Year for their 'inspirational' focus on sustainability through author events, lend-and-mend hubs and getting everyone involved in conversations about the climate.
