AN INVERKIP restaurant is looking for clues to solve a mystery around a painting donated to them.
The ‘Boat Picture’ is the newest feature in The Chartroom, located at Kip Marina.
The ‘mysterious’ item was handed in by the family of the late Angus McFarlane, who had a passion for boats.
After his passing, daughters Christine, Hazel, Joan, and Heather, contacted The Scottish Maritime Museum to find out the history of the beloved image, but its origins beyond then have never been discovered.
A restaurant spokesperson said: “We are hoping with our maritime connections, someone locally might be able to decode the message."
