GREENOCK plays a leading role in a new novel inspired by an 18th century Scottish religious sect.
The Woman Clothed With The Sun, by Stuart Campbell, tells the true-life story of Elspeth Buchan and her followers, The Buchanites.
Some of the chapters of the book are set in Greenock during the 1700s.
Elspeth claimed to be the Woman Clothed With The Sun, one of the figures named in the Book of Revelation in the Bible.
