AN update on the investigation into Inverclyde petrol prices led by a government watchdog is expected to be published 'before Christmas.'
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced that it will be reviewing road fuel prices across the UK earlier this year.
After research published in the Telegraph revealed that Inverclyde was the most expensive place to fuel up in Scotland, as well as campaigning by the local MSP Stuart McMillan, the CMA invited Inverclyde locals to submit evidence to them to be included in their review.
A spokesperson for the CMA said: "We are aiming to publish an update before Christmas.
"We will set out our findings, and what, if any, measures we consider necessary when we publish the final report of our market study and we are aiming to publish this ahead of our statutory deadline of July 7, 2023."
