A FULL fleet of Greenock-based tugs escorted new warship HMS Glasgow down the Clyde.
The first of the Royal Navy’s new City Class Type 26 frigates, sailed downriver on a giant barge, past Inverclyde and bound for Loch Long.
She will be lowered into the water for the first time at Glen Mallan before being towed back up the Clyde to the BAE Systems’ yard at Scotstoun where work to fit the warship out will be completed.
