THERE will be no trains in Inverclyde for several days as Network Rail staff go on strike once again.

ScotRail say there will be no services in Inverclyde on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, as RMT union members walk out of work.

They are currently embroiled in a pay rise dispute with the track and infrastructure operator.

While Thursday is not included in the list of strike days, ScotRail has warned customers not to expect any service then either.

The company said: "It is hoped that some additional routes can be added, but customers should check our website and journey planner for details before they travel."

David Simpson, ScotRail service delivery director, said: “We won’t be able to operate the vast majority of our services between January 3 and 7, which we know will be really frustrating for our customers.

“We’re advising customers to seek alternative means of transport."
