THE vital workhorse of the Arran ferry route is in Greenock undergoing maintenance.
CalMac's MV Caledonian Isles is currently at Dales Marine, James Watt Dock, for her annual overhaul.
The key vessel is expected to return to service on the Ardrossan-Brodick crossing around the end of the month when the work is completed.
