A ROBBERY accused Gourock man forced his way into a flat in Greenock and targeted the householder with repeated demands for money, it is claimed.
Robert Irvine, 45, is said to have been acting with another person whose identity is meantime unknown to police and prosecutors during the alleged incident at Lyle Street.
Irvine, of Mathie Crescent in Gourock, is accused of demanding entry, repeatedly striking a door so hard that it broke and uttering threats of violence.
The Crown says he forced entry to the ground floor flat, repeatedly demanded money and robbed a man of a mobile phone on October 16, 2021.
Irvine has pleaded not guilty to the indictment charge through lawyer Eddie Sweeney at the sheriff court and is due to stand trial before a jury on May 9.
