AN intoxicated Greenock knife offender was caught driving a car whilst in possession of a seven-inch long blade.
James McNeill, 36, was unfit through drink or drugs behind the wheel of a blue Vauxhall Zafira when police stopped him on Inverkip Street.
Officers recovered the large knife from him during the incident on August 9 in 2021.
McNeill, of Brisbane Street, pleaded guilty through lawyer Aidan Gallagher at the sheriff court on Tuesday.
Sheriff David Pender deferred sentence until April 5 for a social background report and electronic tagging assessment to be prepared.
The sheriff disqualified McNeill from driving in the interim, with the length of his ban to be determined next month.
