A GREENOCK man found guilty of assaulting a woman to her injury and danger of life in a domestically aggravated attack has had his sentencing postponed.

Barry Smith, 39, of Leven Road, seized the victim by her neck after turning up at her home and smashing a TV in a fit of rage in July 2020.

Background reports were not available for the latest calling of the case and the matter has been adjourned until March 29.

Prosecutor Kirstin Brierley told the sheriff court: "The complainer is supportive of a non-harassment order and asks that one be imposed for as long as possible."
