A DANGEROUS driving accused man charged with causing a police officer to take evasive action to avoid a crash on a Greenock street is set to stand trial at the sheriff court.

Anthony Docherty, 31, is said to driven a black Range Rover Evoque on the opposing carriageway and failed to maintain a proper lookout on Kilmacolm Road on June 17 last year.

Docherty, whose address was not given in court, is further charged with possession of cannabis.

He has pleaded not guilty to the allegations through lawyer Aidan Gallagher, with the case due to call again on June 20 ahead of a trial scheduled for July 13.
