ENTREPRENEURIAL students from Inverclyde Academy gave a great account of themselves in a financial competition.

Pupils from the school took part in the Growing Future Assets Investment Competition, which aims to get more women into the profession.

The school's team pitched an array of investment options and received certificates from the competition organisers for their efforts.

Science teacher Ami Oliver, who oversaw the girls' work, told the Tele: "Right now there are more people named Dave in investment than there are women, it's important that more females get the option to go into this field.

"We worked with someone from an investment company in Edinburgh and discussed Doc Martens as an example of a company you might invest in.

"From that the pupils created a whole portfolio detailing why someone would want to invest in the company and then had to pitch it.

"It was good fun but has also made the girls think about a career, some of the girls said they had never thought of investment as an option before."
