A message sent to Roxburgh Practice patients this morning read: "Due to unforeseen circumstances and significant structural damage to our building due to a water leak we will be unable to allow any access to the building today while we await expert assessment.
"If you need to call the practice this will be strict emergencies only while we assess the situation.
"We thank you for your understanding and will update when we can."
An Inverclyde HSCP spokesperson said: “Due to flooding, access to the building is significantly restricted for safety reasons.
“Contingency plans are in place and we’re supporting the practices with those plans.”
An HSCP update said both practices are operating telephone triage and on the day appointments.
The statement added: "Patients are being directed to alternative building entry with details posted at the main entrance."
