FRESH plans to build a stunning stilt house overlooking the Clyde have been approved by council officials.

Designs for a two-storey, two-bedroom property on undeveloped land off Gourock's Turnberry Avenue have been accepted.

The home will be built on stilts due to the sloping nature of the site and will be accessed via a bridge.

The house's north elevation incorporates large areas of glazing to maximise views across the River Clyde and includes a series of outdoor seating spaces and a patio area.

Planning permission was previously granted for a home at the site, but new designs were lodged with council planners earlier this year.

The fresh plans attracted three objections and 21 supportive comments.
