AIRLINE Jet2 will launch flights from Glasgow Airport to a popular holiday spot this winter, it has been revealed.

The firm's winter programme schedule has been released earlier than ever before due to demand with flights from Glasgow Airport to 12 destinations, including Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Malaga, Alicante, Palma, Antalya, Faro, Madeira, Paphos - and now Malta.

Jet2 will boast more than 40 departing weekly flights from Glasgow Airport during peak periods.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are very pleased to be putting our winter sun programme for winter 24/25 on sale from Glasgow Airport, which includes a fantastic brand-new route to Malta.

"The early release of the programme comes in direct response to the strong demand we are seeing from customers and independent travel agents in Scotland wanting to book in advance and get the best choice of dates, rooms and resorts, as well as spread the cost.”

He added: “In addition to giving customers the chance to book their winter sunshine nice and early, the size and scale of our programme means we are offering fantastic choice and flexibility.

"For this reason, we are confident that this new programme will prove extremely popular as people look to escape the cold and gloom of the UK in winter and chase the sunshine.

"We are looking ahead with real confidence and are very excited to be able to share further good news about our winter 24/25 programme from Glasgow Airport soon.”

Christopher Tibbett, group head of airline relations and marketing for AGS Airports, which owns Glasgow Airport, added: “The early release of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ packed winter sun schedule is great news for travellers looking to get away as the nights start to draw in and the temperatures drop.

"The addition of a new Malta service will also be well received as this lovely Mediterranean island has always been a hugely popular destination with Scottish holidaymakers.”
