A LABOUR councillor has welcomed a Scottish Parliament spotlight for Greenock Arts Guild and the Beacon as it marks its tenth birthday.
MSP Paul O'Kane has presented a motion at Holyrood highlighting the organisations and their work.
Martin McCluskey, who has been a trustee of the Guild since 2018, said: "This is important recognition for the Greenock Arts Guild and for our ten years at the Beacon.
“The centre was an important investment in the cultural life of the Inverclyde community and over the past decade it has played host to every form of art and performance.
"The Beacon's slogan is 'lighting up lives' and that's what I think we've achieved over the past ten years. I'm looking forward to watching the centre thrive over the next decade."
