A CRUISE ship is due to set sail from Greenock's Ocean Terminal tomorrow after her departure was delayed when she suffered ‘minor damage’ to the hull.

Ocean Endeavour, an Adventure Canada vessel, arrived in the town on Wednesday morning and had been due to leave for a cruise of Scotland’s islands that evening.

But the nine-deck ship sustained a 600mm by 600mm hole, which is being repaired by Dales Marine.

A spokesperson for Adventure Canada told the Tele: “Adventure Canada, the Ocean Endeavour and our guests thank the community of Greenock for such a warm welcome during our extended stay.

“It has been the utmost pleasure to work with Cecile Fleming, Tony McGoldrick and the entire Inverclyde Tourist Group and Peter Sloan, operations manager for the Peel Ports Group, for fabulous service and wonderful hospitality.
