A GREENOCK assault accused has been charged with targeting two men on a train in an alleged religiously aggravated offence.
Shaun Paul Latham, of Leven Road, is said to have attacked the during the course of a journey between Paisley Gilmour Street and Cartsdyke stations on September 21 last year.
Prosecutors say the 36-year-old kicked one man in the head and also seized another by the hair and pulled him.
Latham is also accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by allegedly shouting, swearing, repeatedly uttering sectarian remarks, uttering offensive remarks and making threats of violence towards the men and others, as well as challenging them to a fight.
The Crown says it intends to prove that the alleged offence was aggravated by religious prejudice.
