BUDDING Banksy's in Inverclyde are getting the chance to display their artwork in a new community exhibition.

The Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock is inviting artists of all abilities – including absolute beginners – to submit their work.

All pieces will be featured in the venue’s summer open exhibition, going on public display for seven weeks.

It follows the success of the Beacon’s open exhibition held at the end of 2019, with more than 100 pieces of work submitted.

This year's showcase will run from July 8 until August 26.

Entry forms are available from the Beacon’s box office and drop off dates for submissions are July 3-4.

Artists who submit their work will be invited to an exhibition launch event on July 7 before it opens to the public the following day.

The Beacon is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a year-long programme of music, theatre, comedy, and the arts.

The venue hosts a constantly changing programme of inspiring and thought-provoking exhibitions in its upstairs gallery space.

Guest curator Fraser Taylor presents work by local, national, and international artists, some of which are exclusive to the Beacon.

He said: "This exhibition allows a wide audience to see the incredible range of artwork that is being produced by local artists of all ages and experience.

“It is important that the Beacon Arts Centre provides everyone with this opportunity to exhibit.”
