THE summer of music has arrived with a host of live performances taking place across the UK. To get us in the mood for the upcoming Glastonbury Festival, here are just some local fans, and famous acts who have visited Inverclyde in recent times.
Pic1: Morrissey wowed a full house when he appeared in Greenock Town Hall back in 2006. Fans travelled from as far afield as Mexico, Argentina and Rome to see the gig.

Pic2: Meeting Ian Brown was a truly unforgettable experience for me, as I was able to talk with him on a wide range of topics for a while in Greenock's Tontine Hotel. I took this pic as he sat in his limo with some fans who had won the chance to join him.

Pic3: Music students of James Watt College got the chance to meet Dodgy when they visited the music production department back in 2011.

Pic4: On a publicity visit to Greenock music shop Rhythmic Records after they were awarded Best UK Band by NME, Biffy Clyro happily posed up for my camera along with fans who had come along to see them in person.

Pic5: Although not performing here, Blur made an unexpected appearance in Gourock, when they prepared to board a CalMac ferry for Dunoon. I caught this shot of Damon Albarn and Alex James when they climbed onto the roof of their bus.

The band's link with Inverclyde was renewed recently when the photo for the front cover of their latest album was revealed - an acclaimed old picture of Gourock Outdoor Pool.
