A REGIONAL MSP has welcomed a move to freeze fares on the local CalMac network.
Ticket prices on Clyde and Hebrides routes will be held at current levels between October this year and and March 2024.
A freeze was first introduced back in January.
The government says the move to continue it would help to support communities that depend on vital services.
Katy Clark, who represents West Scotland for Scottish Labour, said: “It is welcome that ferry fares have again been frozen given the twin impact of the ongoing ferries crisis and the spiralling cost of living."
