SCHOOLS and children’s groups in Inverclyde are being invited to apply for grants of up to £1,500 as part of a supermarket initiative aiming to give youngsters a fulfilling future.
Tesco’s Stronger Starts scheme will help recipients provide equipment or nutritious food for healthy activities.
Customers can support their local school or group’s bid for a grant by dropping a blue token they receive at the checkout into the relevant voting box on their way out the store.
Jason Tarry, Tesco UK CEO, said: “Helping schools and children’s groups access the food and resources they need is vitally important in getting children a stronger start in life.
“Children with enough food have more energy, better concentration, and ultimately achieve more too.”
