THE founder of an Inverclyde mental health charity was given an ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ matchday experience at Ibrox to thank him for his work within the local community.

Man On Inverclyde’s Chris Paul was nominated for the ‘unforgettable’ VIP match day experience in Glasgow by friend William Bethel.

Since 2020, Rangers have been working with confectionery company Cadbury to reward fans who go the extra mile in their community.

Chris founded the Man On Inverclyde during the Covid-19 lockdown after watching his own dad's struggles with mental health.

Since then the charity has become an integral part of the community, saving lives and winning many awards along the way.

In a video released by Rangers, Chris said: “Rangers is a massive part of my life – a big part of my family’s life.

“Myself, my brother, my dad – it’s the one thing that can connect us all together.

“Football for me is more than just watching the actual game.

“It’s that connection with your friends, your pals and I know for a lot of the guys who come through here, football plays a big part in their lives as well.”

Speaking about Chris, William added: “He’s just the most caring guy you probably ever meet.

“He’s done all of this off his own back.

“I’m so glad the Cadbury have been able to give Chris this opportunity.

“With the generosity he’s shown the local community, he really deserves it.”

A box of Cadbury gifts was delivered to Chris by former Rangers player Marvin Andrews.

Chris and William then attended Rangers’ clash with Hearts at Ibrox, where they enjoyed dinner with club legends John Brown and Ian Durrant.

After the match, Chris met and took pictures with midfielder Todd Cantwell and manager Michael Beale.

He said he was ‘blown away’ by the experience.
