A SERIOUS assault-accused Gourock woman inflicted a head-kicking attack on schoolgirl onboard a train, it is claimed.

Gillian Wilson is charged with leaving the 15-year-old child injured after allegedly kicking and punching her.

Prosecutors say that 34-year-old Wilson carried out the alleged assault on the teenager during the course of a journey between Port Glasgow and Gourock railway stations.

Court papers state Wilson, of Davidson Drive in Gourock, was on a court bail order regarding another criminal matter at the time of the alleged offence on March 19 last year.

She is charged with pursuing the alleged teenage victim, repeatedly kicking her on the head, seizing her by the hair and repeatedly striking her on the head with her leg.

The indictment charge further alleges that Wilson repeatedly punched the girl on the head all to her injury.

She is further accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm by allegedly shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence during the same incident.

Wilson maintained a plea of not guilty to all of the allegations against her through solicitor Aidan Gallagher at the latest calling of the case on August 8.

Greenock Sheriff Court was told that a VIPER (Video Identification Parade Electronic Recording) procedure is yet to be carried out by police in relation to the case.

Sheriff David Pender continued all matters to a further pre-trial hearing which is scheduled to take place at the beginning of October.
