A MAN accused of driving a BMW sportscar dangerously through Greenock and sparking a high-speed police chase has complained about the conduct of the officers who eventually arrested him, Greenock Sheriff Court has been told.
Scott Donnelly faces seven indictment charges related to alleged Road Traffic Act offences from December 2021.
The 45-year-old's solicitor Aidan Gallagher told the latest calling of the case that his client, who was absent from the August 15 hearing but has maintained not guilty pleas, has lodged an official complaint with Police Scotland following the alleged incident.
Donnelly is accused of driving without a valid licence on December 17, 2021 at St Lawrence Street and also failing to stop for two uniformed constables.
It is claimed that he drove in an erratic manner on the same street and on East Hamilton Street when he drove off at excessive speed from a stationary police vehicle which had its blue lights activated.

The Crown indictment states that the accused drove at excessive speeds with a police vehicle in pursuit, failed to give way at junctions, mounted a footpath and attempted to drive along it when his car was too wide to do so.
The charge adds that he repeatedly reversed and manoeuvred his vehicle at excessive speeds and collided with marked police cars, before driving towards four officers forcing them to take evasive action to avoid being struck by the car.
Further charges claim Donnelly, of Partridge Road, struggled violently with PCs and tried to prevent handcuffs from being applied, and failed to provide breath tests when he was suspected of being under the influence.
He is also accused of having a knife without reasonable excuse.
It is said that Donnelly committed the alleged offences while on bail for a separate matter.
Sheriff James Varney continued the case to a further first diet hearing on September 5.
