A CRUISE ship made waves in more ways than one as she arrived for her first visit to the Clyde.

Nieuw Statendam berthed at Greenock Ocean Terminal early this morning.

Launched in 2017, the 99,000 tonne, 12-deck, 300m ship has a crew of 1,053.

She can carry 2,666 guests and won a title at the Best Cruise Ship Awards for her 'inspired design and entertainment options'.

She is listed as scheduled to leave around 3pm today, but members of the public are reminded that departure times are subject to change.

The vessel's next port of call will be the Isle of Skye.
