A MAN charged with assaulting a Gourock pub worker is set to stand trial at the sheriff court after denying the allegation.
Michael Bryce, 30, is said to have struck a man who was acting in the course of his employment at Cleats on Kempock Street on July 1 last year.
Prosecutors say that Bryce struck the man on the head with his hand which caused his spectacles to fall off his face.
It is claimed that Bryce, who address was not given in court, committed the alleged offence whilst on bail.
He has pleaded not guilty through his lawyer Amy Spencer, with the matter set to call again on December 19, ahead of a trial scheduled for January 30 next year.
