TOMATOES will not ripen much more unless we have an Indian Summer.
Stop the growth at the fourth truss and begin to harvest all the ripe fruit.
Green fruits can be picked and larger ones can be taken indoors to ripen on a sunny window sill or wrapped in newspaper and put into a drawer but do inspect them regularly.
Small green fruits, and even small red ones, can be made into chutney to use during the winter months.
