A TALENTED director from Inverclyde is stepping in to help his former youth theatre put on an ambitious new musical show.

Adam O'Brien - the man behind the sell-out 'The Tommy Burns Story' and one of the BBC's Scottish Voices 2022 - is hosting a fundraiser for the Kayos upcoming Little Shop of Horrors.

Former Kayos member Adam, who is also a writer and performer, will be the quizmaster at musical night in Greenock this weekend.

The top Inverclyde youth theatre needs to raise £11,500 to fund their full scale musical in the Port Glasgow Town Hall, which will include a live band.

Kayos director Kevin Jannetts is delighted to have Adam on board.

He said: "Adam is a great friend of Kayos and we know that his quiz night will be great fun. We are hoping to have some of the cast along to perform as well.

"It is great to be able to put on a show like this but we couldn't do it without the support of people like Adam.

"We have so many former Kayos members coming back to help us. There is a real collobaration in Inverclyde."

Adam will be hosting the Musical Theatre quiz night with food, a raffle, games and  some musical theatre singing from the cast of Little Shop.

It takes place in the Greenock Celtic Supporters Club on tomorrow night from 7pm. Tickets are £7 and are available online now.

Kayos are performing Little Shop of Horrors at four shows in the Port Glasgow Town Hall starting on Friday October 20.

Tickets for both  the quiz show and the musical are available at  https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/inverclyde-youth-theatre
