BOSSES from the Beacon have told of their delight at winning an award recognising their work to raise Inverclyde’s profile.
The venue won the Tourism prize at Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce’s ICON Business Awards ceremony, which was held at Greenock Town Hall.
The Beacon’s programme of theatre, comedy, arts, music, and exhibitions is carefully curated to appeal to audiences from the local community and further afield.
It is the largest venue outside of Glasgow for national touring productions, with National Theatre of Scotland regularly previewing its latest shows at the Beacon ahead of Scottish and UK tours.
Karen Townsend, acting joint director, said: “Everyone at the Beacon Arts Centre works incredibly hard to ensure we have a programme that appeals to members of our local community, but one that also attracts visitors to the area from further afield.
“We are proud to play our part in raising the profile of Inverclyde and will continue to do so with our brilliant programme of events and shows.”
